This year's note
Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) 2027 is Kartik Amavasya — 29 October. Pradosh after sunset is the usual Lakshmi-Ganesh window. Amavasya and pradosh bounds move with the city's sun times.
Diwali date
Diwali is Kartik Krishna Amavasya. Lamps and Lakshmi-Ganesh puja sit on that amavasya evening, not only on a printed date. Amavasya can straddle two civil days — take sunset and pradosh from your city panchang.
Lakshmi puja muhurat (Pradosh)
Pradosh is commonly taken as about three muhurtas (roughly 2 hours 24 minutes) after sunset. That is the usual Lakshmi puja window. Some homes also keep a later Nishita puja — follow the house custom. If Rahu kalam overlaps pradosh, keep the sankalp outside Rahu.
Puja vidhi
Clean the threshold, rangoli or mandana, install Ganesh-Lakshmi, lamps, flowers, sweets, and Chopda pujan for new account books. Mewar havelis draw mandana at the door. Vidhi is the household's — the panchang only times the clocks.
Mantra
A common japa is Om Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah. Remember Ganesh first, then Lakshmi, when the lamp is lit. Longer stotras come from your priest or family book.
