How we calculate the panchang
Calculations follow Drik Siddhanta and Indian Standard Time. This is not astrological advice.
Drik Siddhanta
Tithi, nakshatra, yoga, and karana come from the Sun and Moon in the sky — not from midnight on the wall calendar. That is Drik (observed) ganita.
Sunrise and timezone
Each city uses its latitude and longitude for sunrise, sunset, moonrise, and moonset. Clocks are shown in Asia/Kolkata (IST).
Tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana
Tithi from the Sun–Moon angle, nakshatra from lunar longitude, yoga from Sun+Moon, karana as half a tithi. Names are read at sunrise; end times are listed separately.
Rahu Kaal, Gulika, Yamaganda, Abhijit
These split the local day (sunrise to sunset) into eighths or fifteenths. Jaipur and Jodhpur therefore differ by minutes.
Ayanamsa
Vedic signs are sidereal. The engine uses the same ayanamsa and search steps as Suyog Academy's Android panchang app — values are not rounded away.
How often we update
Daily panchang is generated after midnight. If a city-date row is missing, the page calculates and stores it on the spot — today's panchang should never be empty.
