Sankranti

Solar ingress days — the first city sunrise where the sun sits in a new rashi. Makar is the kite festival; the others are quieter month-turns.

Vidhi. A sankranti is the sun entering a new rashi. Many homes bathe at sunrise and give til, grain, or clothes. Makar is the public kite day; Karka begins Dakshinayana.

Paran. There is no Ekadashi-style paran. If you fasted, eat after sunrise puja. Confirm the civil date on the city page — ingress can be the previous evening.

Mantra. Om Suryaya Namah

Dates here use the first Jaipur sunrise in that rashi, except Makar 2026 which keeps the published kite day (14 January). Longitude still shifts the exact minute.
