Amavasya
New-moon Amavasya dates from the festival calendar.
Vidhi. New-moon day for pitru tarpan in many homes, or a quiet fast. Diwali sits on Kartik Amavasya — that festival page has the puja clocks.
Paran. No single paran rule. If you fasted, eat after amavasya ends or after the evening rite.
Mantra. Om Pitribhyo Namah
Amavasya end time moves with longitude. Use the selected city.
