Jaipur Panchang, 21 March 2026

This year's note

Gangaur honours Gauri (Parvati) and Ishar (Shiva). The rite is rooted in Mewar household worship, yet the most public procession in Rajasthan now winds through Jaipur's old city — ivory palanquins, ghudla songs, and married women in red and ochre. Unmarried girls pray for a good match; married women pray for their husband's long life.

The main day is Chaitra Shukla Tritiya, 21 March 2026. Udaipur, Nathdwara, and smaller Mewar towns keep their own ghudla and idol immersions. We scope the panchang link to Jaipur because that is where most travellers time the street procession, while the region tag stays Mewar to mark the festival's cultural home.

Households dress small Isar-Gauri murtis, offer wheat, gur, and seasonal flowers, and sing through the sixteen-day count some Mewar families still keep before visarjan at a well or tank. The public Jaipur day is shorter: reach the City Palace side before the palanquin moves, then stand along Tripolia. Do not use the palanquin clock if you are fasting at home in Chittorgarh — switch the city in the header.

Read Jaipur's panchang for 21 March for tithi end time, rahu kalam, and a shubh window before the palanquin leaves. If Panchaka or Bhadra is flagged that morning, many families still keep the vrat but delay a new purchase in the mela crowd.
